Stuff

I'm a little nervous. I have a friend who has a charity. They build houses for the poor in Guatemala. One of the ways they are raising money is to volunteer to help at an event called the Warrior Dash. She put a Facebook request out there for friends to volunteer with her to work the event. I signed up and talked MK into doing it with me. Now I'm scared that I'm too big of a fat ass to be of much help. Okay, that's not totally true. I know I can help them out....what I'm really scared of is the t-shirt I will get to wear. I am embarrassed by how LARGE I am. I hope they have one big enough. Sheesh. So lame.

Another thing that makes me nervous is that it is going to be really hot tomorrow - like 90 degrees. I hope I don't sweat my ass off and pass out or something.

On the plus side, I'm excited to get involved with her group. She is a woman of God and her organization is one based in faith. I believe in her mission. I hope this is a start to more involvement for me. I'd love to one day go with her down there and help out. While I am there I would LOVE to find my former sponsor child. I sponsored her for many years and we exchanged tons of letters. I was so sad when Christian Children's Fund stopped working in her area of Guatemala. My friend's organization is very close to where my sponsor child lived. I am pretty sure I could find her family. I have a lot of information about them from her letters along with pictures of her family. Someday I will do that.

I haven't posted in a long time...I'm not sure why. I've sat down to a blank page many times, but nothing comes. Everything is fine though.

Yesterday I went to see the movie Magic Mike. Yes, I am in love with Channing Tatum. He is SOOOOO fine...and the things he can do with that body. Wow.

Today the girls and I (Lil brother didn't want to go - he opted for Grandma's house) went with Hollywood's family to see Brave. They all drove up here and brought us egg rolls. SO YUMMY! The movie was really good. I highly recommend it. :)

Afterward we went to Menards and I got some stain, then came home and I stained the picnic table. It looks SOOOOO much better. It needed it so bad. I had waited because it was broken, but my mom's boyfriend (without me asking) came over and fixed it for me when I wasn't home. He replaced 2 boards on it. That was an AWESOME surprise.

That same day he also fixed the kids' go cart. They named him Carl. Yes, the go cart's name is Carl. They ride it all over and are wearing a path in the grass. They are pretty careful, but of course I still worry about them. It's small though and doesn't go too fast. Perfect size for them really. Here they are enjoying a ride. LOL

MK got her driver's license! I'm happy for her. She's very relieved. We spent 3 days driving around town practicing parking since that is what got her last time. She passed with flying colors. She's a good driver...as good as any 16 year old can be I guess.

More soon. Love to you all.
